The Outerbanks CocktailCreated by James Grieshaber
2 oz Gin 1 oz St. Germain 1 oz fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
Shake with ice, strain into a cocktail glass.
This drink is named for the place it was invented, although I think it deserves a more French name. It just seemed like a natural to mix the flavor of St. Germain (elderflower, sweet) with grapefruit (citrus, bitter), and the herbal quality of Gin. It is a wonderful drink, and a crowd pleaser. If you like a stiffer drink, go 2-1/2 : 3/4 : 3/4.
Ingredients notes: It is best to use fresh squeezed sweet red grapefruit, strained to remove pulp.
The Outerbanks Champagne Cocktail
2 oz Champagne 1 oz St. Germain 1 oz fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
Shake St. Germain and juice with ice, strain into a champagne flute, top with champagne.
